For God’s glory, the MISSION of Kannapolis First Baptist Church is to:

PROCLAIM the gospel of Jesus Christ,
PREPARE people with the Word of God,
PENETRATE our community with a Spirit-filled lifestyle and Christlike love, and
PRODUCE disciples for Christ built up in truth and grace.

The channels through which we carry out this mission are OUR MINISTRIES

The Preschool and Children’s Ministry of First Baptist Church seeks to minister to children and their families by teaching the fundamentals of God and the Bible. Our goal is to expose preschoolers to caring adults who can express God’s love to them. It is our desire that children learn about God’s love and His teachings in order to build a solid foundation for spiritual growth that will one day lead them to make a decision for Jesus Christ. Our Preschool and Children’s Ministries provide a safe place for little ones to be introduced to Jesus Christ. We work alongside parents to provide a fertile environment in which to sow and nurture seeds of faith in our children.

The Music Ministry of First Baptist Church is an exciting, growing, vital part of the life and work of our congregation. There are musical opportunities for everyone from age 3 continuing through the Sr. Adult years. As we seek to honor God and to serve Him in all things, it is appropriate that make provision for individuals to praise Him using their talents and gifts in music. Whether we are worshiping, teaching the basics of music reading, ringing handbells, singing at a nursing care facility, rehearsing for a musical/drama or playing an instrument, we are using and developing “our instruments of praise” to honor and serve the Father. Take a moment and look at the weekly schedule to learn about the many opportunities that can be yours to serve God here in this place through the ministry of music!

Children in grades 1-6 experience ringing and singing on a bi-monthly basis.

Rainbow Ringers meet weekly to learn music reading skills and how to play rainbow bells.

Chime Ringers meet weekly to learn music reading skills and they play 3 octaves of chimes.

Praise Ringers meet weekly to learn music reading skills as they play handbells. The group plays 3 octaves of bells and enjoys ringing in worship occasionally.

Master Ringers (Grades 7-12) make up this talented group of youth ringers. The group plays 3 octaves of bells, rings for worship from time to time and participates annually in the NC Youth Handbell Festival.

Kid’s Music Connection – Graded choirs for boys and girls age 3-grade 6. Kid’s Music Connection (Wednesdays at 5:45 pm) is an exciting time for children to learn about God, themselves and others through age appropriate music-activities. From time to time the children sing for worship services.

They participate frequently in worship, share their talents in the community, and ring at the annual NC Adult Handbell Festival sponsored by the Baptist State Convention. Rehearsals are at 6:30pm on Wednesday evenings.

Sanctuary Choir – This talented group of adult singers serve as the choral leadership in worship on a weekly basis. Rehearsals are at 7:15 PM on Wednesday evenings. This group sings a wide variety of music to point us to the Father as we join together in our times of worship. They participate in community choral activities, present musical/dramas at Christmas and Easter, and celebrate our nation’s birth with patriotic music near the 4th of July. This is a group that loves the Lord and enjoys “singing His praises continually.”

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs”. Psalm 100:1-2

Senior Adults are a vital part of the ministry of First Baptist. Volunteering in the office, being involved in weekly outreach, serving as child care workers and visiting our adult members at home are just a few of the many ways in which our Seniors serve and minister. The Sr. Adult Ministry provides opportunities for fellowship through a monthly lunch meeting called KEENAGERS. Regular outings, conferences and overnight trips are planned by the Sr. Adult Ministry Council in coordination with the Minister of Sr. Adults.
There are also opportunities to serve musically through Sr. Adult Choir. The goal of the Prayer and Renewal Ministry of FBC – Kannapolis is to utilize and use the ideas and ministries the Lord has given the Body of Christ. Matthew 7:7-8 tells us to Ask! “Ask and it will be given to
you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be open to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be open.” The Prayer Gate is open to us through
Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior as we walk in Worship, following the God’s Word, He will make a Witness impact through us in this world, in our church, in our homes, in the Work He gives us to do, and in the War we face,. We can discover the sufficiency of Jesus Christ not only for ourselves, but also for those we walk with and those we meet along the pathways of our journey…If we Pray!
